Dr. Colleen Bullard
Dr. Bullard’s journey in dentistry began nearly 20 years ago, driven by a core value: putting patients first. In 2006, with this vision, she founded Comprehensive Dentistry, a single-dentist practice that has blossomed into a team of five dentists and over 30 dedicated staff members. Today, the practice remains true to its roots, prioritizing personalized, top-tier dental care for the Ypsilanti community and is now extending to the Saline community.
Dr. Bullard’s dedication to excellence extends far beyond her practice. She honed her skills at the prestigious University of Michigan Dental School, graduating with honors and receiving advanced training in surgical implant placement, oral surgery, root canals, and clear aligner therapy.
Dr. Bullard believes very deeply in providing service to those in need. She has partnered with the Hope Clinic locally, and World Mission Partners globally to deliver dental care to the underserved in Ypsilanti and around the world in places like the Dominican Republic.
Today, Dr. Bullard wears many hats. As Clinical Director, she oversees the delivery of high-quality care, actively coaching and inspiring her team of dentists, hygienists, and assistants. She also serves as a dedicated mentor, guiding the next generation of dental professionals and helping them refine their skills and advance their careers.
Dr. Bullard’s passion extends beyond the four walls of the practice. She is a proud University of Michigan alumna with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Social Work, reflecting her well-rounded approach to patient care. When she’s not leading her team, she enjoys cheering on Michigan sports, practicing hot yoga, delving into a good book, and spending quality time with her family.
Dr. Bullard’s story is one of dedication, excellence, and a deep commitment to service. She is a true leader, building a thriving dental practice while fostering a culture of care and mentorship within her team.

Dr. Maxine Taylor
Dr. Taylor’s story with Comprehensive Dentistry began long before she became a dentist. A Michigan and Saline native, she played trumpet in the marching band and began working at Comprehensive Dentistry as a dental assistant while still in high school. It was there that she first became fascinated with not only the clinical techniques and artistry of dentistry but also observing the difference a dentist can make in someone’s health, confidence, and life.
She went on to attend Grand Valley State University, where she studied biomedical science as well as behavioral neuroscience. Her interest in understanding people became an important part of the kind of dentist she wanted to become. Dr. Taylor believes great dentistry starts with listening and making sure patients feel heard, understood, and comfortable before deciding together what care is right for them.
At the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, she continued developing that patient-centered approach. Today, one of the things she enjoys most about dentistry is helping people become healthy and stay healthy so they can focus on the things that matter most in their lives.
For Dr. Taylor, you are a person before you are a set of teeth. She takes the time to understand each patient's needs, answer questions, and explain treatment in a way that makes dentistry easier to understand. She wants her patients to feel comfortable and confident that they are receiving thoughtful, individualized care, and she never wants someone to feel rushed into making a decision.
Her goal is not simply to fix a tooth. It is to build a relationship with each patient, help them understand their oral health, and create a plan that supports their health for years to come. If you are nervous about visiting the dentist, Dr. Taylor understands that too. She will walk you through what to expect, check in with you throughout your visit, and is perfectly happy to let you put on some music and tune her out while she works!
Outside the office, Dr. Taylor loves spending time with her family and friends, especially when there is a little friendly competition involved. Card games and board games are favorites, with dominoes at the top of the list. When she is ready to slow things down, you will often find her sitting by the lake listening to music. And while most people are hoping for the summer sunshine, Dr. Taylor is perfectly happy with a cool, rainy Michigan day.
So, whether you have recently relocated and are looking for a new dentist, have not seen a dentist in years and feel nervous about coming in, or fall somewhere in between, Dr. Taylor is here to meet you where you are and provide a comfortable, welcoming experience.
